In Bavaria, for example, you can enjoy a good time on the grounds of the Alpen-Caravanpark Tennsee. Close to the campsite you will find numerous opportunities to enjoy long hikes under the autumn sun, for example in the Leutascher Geisterklamm gorge or on tours towards Mittenwald. Always worth a visit: the Lüneburger Heide in Lower Saxony. The Wilseder Berg is particularly popular with hikers, but other places, such as the Südheide Nature Park, also have a number of hiking trails to offer. The Traumschleifen day tour is particularly recommended, but on the official website of the Lüneburger Heide you will find many other tours that you can filter according to your needs. In the middle of it all, you can stay at the campsite ´On the Simpel`. From here you can set off on various hikes through the heath and then relax in the free open-air swimming pool.
Even away from the Alps, you can explore nature on foot in Bavaria. The Bavarian Forest has something up its sleeve for hiking holidaymakers, from easy circular trails to challenging summit tours. If you have chosen this beautiful hiking area as your destination, you can relax at the campsite at Weichselbrunn on the shores of the Hammersee. The location on the lake invites you to relax, and at the same time the campsite is a good starting point for hikes around the lake, around the Weichselbrunn pond or other excursion destinations in the area.

Are you drawn to the Alps and the lake? Then the campsite Brugger, right on the shores of Lake Riegsee in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, might be perfect for you. Here you can not only enjoy the beautiful alpine panorama and relax but there are also several hiking trails. Directly from the campsite you can set off on the Riegsee circular trail, and not too far away, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Ammergau Alps and the Murnau Moos are ideal hiking areas.
The Thuringian Slate Mountains offer you dense forests, wide plateaus and great views of the Saale River, which meanders through the entire nature park. One of the most popular tours is the Rennsteig, but the area has much more to offer. The Saalfeld Fairy Grottos, for example, or the Schwarza Valley are also holiday destinations worth seeing in the Slate Mountains. Directly at the Hohenwarte reservoir, the Linkenmühle campsite is located directly on the Hohenwarte reservoir. If you don't dare to go into the cold water in autumn, you can explore the lake on a circular hiking trail, and it's not far to other tours in the slate mountains.
The Black Forest - a time-honoured hiking classic. Almost 24,000 kilometres of signposted hiking trails lead you through its varied landscape, and some of them also take you to considerable heights. From the summit of the Belchen you have the best view over the Black Forest, but several tours that lead you through the gorges of the forest are also a true enrichment for every autumn holiday. As far as campsites are concerned, we recommend the campsite Alpirsbach as a good starting point for your hiking trip. Small but nice is the motto here, and you can make yourself comfortable in the middle of the greenery and relax after your hiking efforts.
Let's go to Austria! Austria's Styria is a wonderful place for hiking. Whether it's the northern Alps or Europe's largest continuous alpine pasture area in the east or the southern wine country, there's a lot to discover on foot in Styria. Very close to the Ybbstaler Alps, right next to the Salza river, you will find the campsite Nachbagauer. Surrounded by mountains and lots of greenery, nature lovers will feel right at home here, and you can set off on your hike through Styria in no time.

A special highlight is the Müritz National Park, which you can discover on the hiking trail of the same name or on one of the other 46 hiking trails.
